Cornwall Film launches Location Brochure
Cornwall Film has launched Cornwall’s first ever Location Brochure, showcasing the wide range of locations and landscapes to film producers wanting to film in the region.
The brochure showcases dramatic Cornish coastline from Bedruthan Steps to the white sands of Bryher and bright beach-huts of Tolcarne. Castles and stately homes include St Michaels Mount and well known film locations Charlestown Harbour and Prideaux Place, as well as lesser used period locations like Godolphin House and Boconnoc. There are claypits and mines, spooky churches, military forts, the modern architecture of the new CUC buildings juxtaposed with ancient ruins and fishing villages, caves, woodland and waterfalls, and all manner of homes and houses – ranging from art deco townhouses to secluded moorland farms – there’s even an ancient roundhouse.
Pippa Best, Project Director at Cornwall Film, said: “There are so many amazing locations in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, the brochure can’t possibly include them all, but it does demonstrate the fantastic variety available here. Designer Adrian Cockroft has done a fantastic job and location managers and producers will want to retain the brochure for years to come. We have had incredible support from local photographers, councils, English Heritage, the National Trust and Visit Cornwall. We hope this initiative will generate more productions here. Not just feature films but television, adverts and music videos - creating jobs for local crew and boosting the local economy.”
The brochure will be available online, where Cornwall Film’s website includes a searchable database that gives more information on the locations. Cornwall’s locations will reach an international audience at the 21st AFCI Locations Trade Show in California and at film festivals such as Cannes. Copies are also being mailed direct to the UK’s top location managers and production companies.
