Cornwall Film Welcome Hollywood Guru Back
Following the recent success of Media Centre for Cornwall’s Eat Shoot and Leave, Cornwall Film is delighted to announce the return of Hollywood screen guru Mark Travis.
Travis will be holding a one day workshop on Directing and Writing with Actors to take place in Penzance on 29 January 2007. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in film to learn from one of the world’s best acting and directing experts. To book a place, contact Kathy at Cornwall Film on 01872 240900.
Pippa Best, Project Director at Cornwall Film, said: “Mark’s workshops in 2005 so inspired local actors, writers and directors that we were inundated with requests to bring him back from LA. We’re thrilled to be working with Media Centre for Cornwall in delivering this great opportunity for the sector.”
Travis has delivered workshops all over the world, including The American Film Institute, Hollywood Film Institute; Japan's Film & Media Lab; London's Raindance Institute; and the Berlin and Munich Film Schools. He has directed over 60 theatre productions in Los Angeles and New York and received over 20 theatre directing awards.
Cornwall Film supports the development of a sustainable media industry in Cornwall. We administer the Cornwall Film AVIS-D Project, a project financed by the European Union, and a partnership of South West Screen, Cornwall County Council and Penwith District Council. By focusing on the three core areas of sector development, product development and inward investment, Cornwall Film aims to provide a comprehensive, integrated environment for media business incubation and development in the region.
