Movie Map To Direct Fans Around Famous Film Locations

News Image
Tower Hamlets Council has teamed up with Canary Wharf Group (CWG) to produce a map of their local area, celebrating its use as a film location.
One of the most recognisable and widely used film locations in the world is the iconic Canary Wharf. It has been the star of many great films from romantic comedies to action adventures and sci-fi thrillers.
The Canary Wharf and Isle of Dogs movie map invites film lovers to come and relive some of their favorite scenes. On the guided walking tour you can take in the locations of over a dozen famous movie moments.
The Isle of Dogs has provided stunning locations for some of the biggest blockbusters, such as:
  • The World Is Not Enough
  • Love Actually
  • Basic Instinct 2
  • Batman Begins
  • 28 Weeks Later
Howard Dawber, Strategic Advisor for Canary Wharf Limited said: "We wanted the movie map to be easily available for tourists and local people alike and to be able to easily update it when new films are shot, so downloadable versions from our website as well as the council’s are ideal.
"Through location filming taking place on the estate CWG has set up a Film Fund which puts back location fees charged for filming into local projects. It is right that the community should benefit from filming in the local area."
The free map is available in an easy to print version on Tower Hamlets Council’s website:
