Scrub supplies UK's first Digidesign D-Command console to Silverglade

HHB’s specialist post division Scrub has installed the UK’s first Digidesign ICON D-Command tactile worksurface at the London post facility Silverglade.
Situated close to the OXO Tower on the thriving South Bank, Silverglade has provided postproduction services to the broadcast and video industries for more than 20 years. The facility includes six offline suites and two non-linear Avid online studios, staffed by a team of nine highly experienced post professionals.
Company Director and Silverglade’s Head of Sound Doug Robinson reports that the new D-Command is already a great success.
“We’d run Pro Tools and a Pro Control surface in our smaller dubbing suite for two years and decided it was time to upgrade the larger one. Looking for a product with longevity and which would integrate easily with our current studio equipment, we went for D-Command, and we’ve been delighted with its performance. We’ve already completed ‘The Cult of the Suicide Bomber’ for Channel 4 which aired recently. And for ‘Shameful Secrets’, an ITV production, we’ve been running the project in both dubbing suites simultaneously with flawless communication between all the equipment.”
Robinson is similarly enthusiastic when discussing the service received from Soho-based Scrub. “We’ve known Ben (Nemes) and the Scrub team for a long time and, as usual, they couldn’t have been more helpful,” he said. At the time of ordering, D-Command hadn’t actually shipped but, as soon as it did, Scrub delivered. “Looking at the price, I was absolutely staggered at how inexpensive it was to upgrade. And with the service that we got from Scrub, it made the whole process of installing the D-Command totally painless and straightforward.”
