BT Calls Scrub For Pro Tools And ICON
Emerging production heavyweight BT Media and Broadcast has called in audio technology specialists Scrub for a major upgrade to its live and post production facilities.
Based at the heart of the UK's media gateway, the iconic BT Tower, a new 5.1 dubbing theatre joins the existing line-up of HD/SD sports galleries and Avid/FCP suites to complete an impressive offering to the marketplace.
As part of a complete package which also includes 5.1 audio monitoring, Dolby E and Dolby Digital codecs and a DK Technologies MSD600 Jellyfish meter, a new Pro Tools HD system with ICON D-Control ES console will connect to the Avid ISIS storage at BT Media and Broadcast to achieve full media integration. Workflow efficiency is further enhanced by the Pro Tools Video Satellite option which allows the Avid timeline to be controlled directly from Pro Tools.
Andy Beale, BT Media and Broadcast's Head of Engineering, said: "We'll be using the new dubbing theatre for the BBC's Football League Highlights Show which launches in August, along with a host of other content for BT Vision Sports and other clients."
The Tower Production Centre has developed an enviable reputation for technical excellence and innovation, and is a specialist in sports production for multi-platform vendors. Clients include the BBC, csi Sports, BT Vision, the Football League, ATP and Channel 5.
Commenting on the installation, Andy is quick to praise the Scrub team. He said: "Scrub were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process. It's fair to say that we would not have achieved the installation within the tight timescales required if they had not facilitated and expedited the delivery of the ICON console."
Speaking on behalf of Scrub, Director of Sales Ben Nemes said: "The set-up under Andy at BT Tower is as technologically impressive as it is demanding. The sheer amount of time-critical throughput makes the right kit, the right infrastructure and the right knowledge from all concerned an absolute must. We are very happy to have been brought in to help."
