Scrub installs Digidesign ICON at ITV Anglia

Scrub, HHB’s Soho-based post specialist division, has supplied a complete Digidesign ICON and Pro Tools system to ITV Anglia at their Norwich Production Headquarters.
A major provider of daytime programmes and producer of award-winning documentaries, ITV Anglia went on air in 1959 and today serves a population of more than four million. The factual production division at Anglia, Granada Content Norwich, currently produces upwards of 75 hours per annum of programming for Discovery Animal Planet, which is shot in USA and post produced at Anglia’s studios.
The ICON console in combination with Pro Tools will sit at the heart of a newly refurbished Dub One suite in Norwich and represents a major step forward in production efficiency.
Dave Wyatt, Head of Technical Services for ITV Anglia, said: “We were looking for a system which integrated better with our existing Avid Unity storage area network and to improve workflow from the edit suite through to sound dubbing. Three years of evaluation, in which we considered other Pro Tools surfaces like Pro Control, culminated in our decision to buy ICON. We were particularly sold on its cutting edge technology while retaining a look and feel akin to a traditional mixing console.”
Wyatt added: “From placing our order to delivery took less than six weeks. We gave Scrub a deadline and they stuck to it. They were also extremely thorough in communicating to us the ongoing status of the order - essential when working to tight production delivery schedules alongside a large technical installation project. Upon arrival of the system, Scrub’s engineers assembled it in less than two days and followed up with three days of hands-on training.”
