Scrub supplies St Anne’s with 16-Fader ICON D-Control

London post facility St Anne's has installed a 16-fader ICON D-Control console, supplied by Digidesign specialist Scrub. Already hard at work on the next series of the popular Channel 4 drama Shameless', the ICON has breathed new life into what was previously one of St Anne's lesser-used rooms.
"Studio 5 is a comparatively small space, so we were looking for a cost-effective and space-efficient refit," said Johnny Whitehead, Head of Technical Operations and Engineering. "As an integrated console, the ICON fits the bill perfectly. The room now has much more client space, yet the ICON still has all the flexibility and presence of a traditional mixing console. Also, the gradual migration to Pro Tools for all our audio mixing and editing makes ICON the logical choice."
In addition to light entertainment and TV dramas, the new ICON will also be used for re-versioning work, and for preparing larger projects to be undertaken in St Anne's bigger studios.
A satisfied customer of HHB for some time, St Anne's found the close proximity of the company's specialist post division to be particularly helpful. "Scrub are just around the corner from us, so we were able to get lots of time on their demo console," continued Whitehead. "By the time our ICON was installed in September, we were pretty much up to speed. Niels Stevens (Scrub Product Specialist) was on hand to assist our engineers throughout the installation, and the level of service and support we've received from Scrub before and after the sale has been first class."
Speaking on behalf of Scrub, Director of Sales Ben Nemes said: "The St Anne's installation is a perfect example of how an ICON D-Control can revitalise a mid-size editing and mixing suite. It packs extraordinary control and Pro Tools functionality into a comparatively compact work surface."
