LIP SYNC POST CHOOSE QUARTZ ROUTERS

A RANGE of Quartz Q6400 digital and analogue audio routers with controllers have been chosen by Soho-based video post-production company, Lip Sync, for installation at their new premises in Wardour Street.
Installed in Lip Sync Post's central machine room, the Quartz solution provides flexible and dependable routing for the CMR and throughout the new premises. This includes remote access to video tape recorders, standards converter and audio desks.
The new system includes three 64 x 64 routers plus SDI, AES and analogue audio routers forming the main part along with three control panels. Operational from the beginning of January, the new facilities are additional to Lip Sync's existing facility.
Lip Sync managing director Peter Hampden comments: "We have used Quartz routing equipment very successfully for many years, finding it reliable and efficient. The Q128 has the extra advantage of being expandable as our serial digital routing requirements increase."
Engineering installation was co-ordinated by one of Europe's largest systems integrators, Hertfordshire-based ATG Spectrum.
Lip Sync Post werefounded in 1991 specialising in film and television commercials. They have since expanded into television editing, e-media, design and effects, duplication and standards conversion. Current facilities include six broadcast edit suites, four theatre dubbing studios and a graphics studio.
Quartz Electronics have achieved a high reputation for the reliability and flexibility of their routing and system-control equipment. Responding to customer needs, the company has announced several new product innovations. These include large-scale routers that extend the Quartz range to 256 x 256 and beyond, a QMC Master Control Switcher that provides multi-layer keying, multi-format audio, logo store, channel identification and an innovative control panel; compact routers such as the new 16x16 and 32x32 compact SDI routers with extended features.
Matching the technical and operational demands imposed in live broadcasting. Quartz' expanding product range is designed to be cost-effective, versatile and space-efficient.
