BBC ENGLISH REGIONS CHOOSE QUARTZ ROUTERS
QUARTZ AUDIO routers are currently being installed for the BBC as part of a major project throughout England.
The multiple order, calling for 40 mono and stereo routers, were placed by systems integrators The Oxford Sound Company as part of an installation contract awarded by the BBC earlier this year.
Quartz 32x32 stereo and a 16x16 mono analogue routers will enable the BBC to replace all their existing tape facilities with a new PC-based automation system. The equipment is scheduled for delivery over a six-month period to meet the BBC's roll-out plans.
Oxford Sound Managing Director Andrew Riley selected Quartz for technical, commercial and logistical reasons. He said: "We needed a reputable company which could supply broadcast-quality routers in a strict time-frame to over 20 sites across England. As reliable manufacturers with a great support team and reputation, we were confident that Quartz would be our best partner for the contract.”
