Rushes Shorts Festival calls for entries

The organisers of the fourth Rushes Soho Shorts Festival have called for entries for the event, which is to be held between Saturday July 27 and Friday August 1 2002.
Preparations are already underway for this groundbreaking event, which has proved such a huge success over the last three years. It has become has a regular fixture on the festival circuit and past winners have gone on to achieve phenomenal success within the industry.
Last year, the organisers at Rushes Postproduction were thrilled with the quality of the 900 entries in last year's festival, celebrating the wealth of talent in short films including newcomer, established short film makers, animation, pop promos and title sequences & idents.
The festival will follow the same format as last year. Free screenings will be held in cafes, bars and cinemas all over Soho, culminating in a celebrity packed awards night at Sound in Leicester Square, sponsored by Sony Pro Media. Venues already confirmed for this year include the Atlantic Bar, Soho House, Curzon Soho, Alphabet Bar, Mr Young's and the Metro Cinema. As with last year there will also be a virtual venue, so you can watch the shorts even if you can't make it into Soho.
Once again there will be a Delegates Centre at the Curzon Soho Cinema, open each day, where you will be able to find out the latest festival information and pick up a free delegate¹s pack. The Curzon will also be the venue for the Short Film Making Seminar, which has proved to be such a success over the last two years. The Curzon Soho will also be hosting other special screenings during the festival, details of which will be announced at a later date.

Entries should not be longer than 12 minutes in duration and produced in the 12 months up to May 2002. The closing date for entries is Tuesday May 7 2002.
