Spokespeople Announced For The Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival
Rushes Soho Shorts has announced that British actress Geraldine James OBE and British documentary maker Nick Broomfield, are the official spokespeople for The Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival 2007.
Famed for his hard-hitting, gritty documentaries and his reflexive filmmaking style, Broomfield comes on board to help promote the new documentary category that has been added to the existing 5 categories (short, newcomer, animation, music, titles & idents) for the first time this year. Broomfield is most famous, in recent years, for his documentaries including 'Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer', 'Ghosts', 'My Big White Self', 'Kurt & Courtney', 'Biggie & Tupac'.
The festival, renowned for its not-for-profit status and its championing of emerging young talent, has grown dramatically each year since 1999 with last year seeing more than 2,000 entries from filmmakers around the world.
Rushes Soho Shorts Festival 2007 will run from 28 July to 3 August with Awards for the Best Director in each category being presented on Thursday 2 August.
Deadline for entries is 11 May 2007
