Rushes Soho Shorts Festival makes final call for entries
Following the phenomenal success of the fifth Rushes Soho Shorts Festival, final entries are now being sought for the 2004 competition (Saturday July 31 - Friday August 6, 2004), closing date tomorrow (May 7).
Rushes has also announced Bill Nighy as the official festival spokesperson.
BAFTA Award winning actor Nighy said: "I am pleased to be associated with the Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival. In the precarious world of film and television the festival gives new and emerging talent the opportunity to showcase their work and receive the credit they deserve. The whole festival is free, from entering to attending short film seminars and screenings. Newcomers can get to see their film on a big screen, usually for the first time, which is a real buzz. Short films are a great way for our creative and often aspiring talent to learn their craft whilst collaborating with experienced filmmakers. Short films are mini features, and making a great short requires commitment, a great deal of talent and loads of hard work. To be associated with an event where you can watch as many as eighty short films in a week, judge them side by side on a level playing ground and meet others involved to share experiences in a really informal and friendly atmosphere."
All films entered must have been produced in the last 12 months (up to May 7 2004), have a maximum running time of up to 12 minutes, and be eligible for one of the following categories: Short Film; The Polaroid Newcomer; Title Sequences and Idents; Animation; Music Video.
The competition is free to enter and details on how to do so are available on the Rushes Soho Shorts’ website at www.sohoshorts.com.
