Rushes Soho Shorts Festival announce 2002 winners

The winners of the fourth Rushes Soho Shorts Festival have been announced.
The festival followed the same format as last year. Free screenings were held in cafes, bars and cinemas all over Soho, culminating in a celebrity packed awards night at Sound in the Swiss Centre, Leicester Square on August 1.

Curzon Short Film Award winner: 'Salaryman 6' Director Jake Knight @ Eye Candy. Runners Up: 'At Dawning' Director Martin Jones @ TTO Films and 'Shut Down' (Arret d'urgence) - Dumonceau @ The Sight.
Directors Guild Newcomer Award winner: 'Flipped' Director Phil Traill @ Eccentric Productions. Runners Up: 'Aquarius' Director Freddy & Herman - Rich Thrift @ Milk Communications and 'While I Can Dream' Director Jonathan Fox Bassett @ Heatwave Productions.
The Sound Music Award winner: Basement Jaxx 'Where's Your Head At' - Traktor @ Partizan. Runners Up: Chemical Brothers 'Star Guitar' - Michel Gondry @ Partizan and Avalanches 'Frontier Psychiatrist' - Kuntz & Maguire @ Propaganda.

The 4i Group Title Sequences & Idents Award winner: 'Miranda' - Vehicle @ Nexus Productions. Runners Up: 'Formula 1' Director Nick Livesey @ RSA and 'MTV Xmas with Ricky' Director Deborah Woolf @ MTV UK.
Joce Capper, Managing Director at Rushes said: "This year's festival has been a great success and I hope those who attended the screenings have enjoyed the festival as much as we have.
"The wealth of talent and creativity both from established short filmmakers and newcomers is truly outstanding, and something we should all be very proud of. Without the support of our spokesperson, Ray Winstone, our sponsors and judges, venues and filmmakers the festival couldn't have been the huge success that it has become over the past four years. Most of all, it's the enthusiasm of the general public who turn up in droves to watch and enjoy the shorts, which is what it's all about – a week of entertainment!"
The groundbreaking event has proved a huge success over the last three years. Now a regular fixture on the festival circuit, past winners have gone on to achieve phenomenal success within the industry.
