OmniTek TQ To Monitor The Asian Market

Innovative test and measurement manufacturer OmniTek, has announced that both Globecast Asia and Broadcast Maldives have chosen the OmniTek TQ high-resolution waveform monitor for all their video, audio and metadata needs.
Globecast Asia has purchased three TQs to test in a MCR environment at the organisation's new playout and media management centre in Singapore.
Broadcast Maldives - the only private broadcaster in the Maldives which launched in April of this year - will use one TQ in its MCR environment for transmission quality control.
Calvin Wong, Sales Engineer at Techtel (S.E. Asia) - OmniTek's authorised distributor for Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Maldives stated: "Ease of use and the simple upgrade path via software for the OmniTek TQ are big advantages for our customers. In addition, the TQ is competitively priced which makes the units a very attractive option for our market."
The OmniTek TQ system is tailor-made for broadcasters who need a comprehensive monitoring system for all their video, audio and metadata needs. It contains high-resolution waveform and vectorscope displays, full audio monitoring capabilities, audio/video delay measurements, error logging and MPEG macroblock detection all within a very cost-effective package. Touchscreen controls provide simple, flexible operational control.
Roger Fawcett, Managing Director of OmniTek, confirmed: "Comprehensive Dolby E metadata analysis has now also been integrated into the system, including a unique A/V lip-sync delay measurement facility working on the raw Dolby E data streams.
"In addition, the metering displays offer support for a wide range of different ballistics and graticules. Multi-channel external AES/EBU audio inputs and outputs are also now fully supported.
Fawcett continued: "In addition, last year, we introduced a 'traffic light' system to both the Event logging and Status displays. The traffic lights in the Event Logging give an immediate 'Pass/Fail' indication. The ones in the Status display allow you to see where errors are occurring in a section of the hierarchy that is currently closed up, by placing a red marker against the section heading. It is then an easy task to home in on the actual error.
"The latest TQ system sets new standards of performance in multi-format broadcast monitoring. Its comprehensive monitoring capabilities are supplied all within a very cost-effective package and this is proving popular with broadcasters around the globe."
