STV To Monitor Broadcast Transmission At Pacific Quay With OmniTek TQ

Leading test and measurement manufacturer OmniTek has announced that STV has bought two OmniTek TQ transmission monitoring systems for its new Pacific Quay studios in Glasgow.
“We chose the OmniTek TQ because the combined package of high-resolution waveforms, full video and audio monitoring gives us exactly the QC analysis capabilities we need,” commented Gary Welsh, Technical Manager. “The easy to read full-screen layouts provide a flexible and high resolution display for use in our new transmission area.”
The OmniTek TQ has been developed specifically with the broadcaster in mind and provides a complete monitoring system for broadcast video and audio signals. For the first time, high-resolution waveform and vectorscope displays are integrated with comprehensive audio monitoring capabilities (including Dolby), teletext and closed caption decoding, error logging, A/V delay measurement and macroblock detection, all contained in a single cost-effective package. Touchscreen controls provide simple, flexible operation.
At IBC stand 6.329, OmniTek will be demonstrating the new TQ system. This is the most recent addition to OmniTek’s expanding range of products which also includes; OmniTek XR for precision post production video monitoring; the OmniTek LAB for Research and Development video signal analysis and generation and the OmniTek PQA which gives a range of picture quality analysis tools for evaluating video signal loss due to a compression encoder, composite decoder or other lossy processes.
