Avi Drome Select OmniTek XR Image Analysis System

Leading test and measurement manufacturer OmniTek has announced that Netherlands based, post production facility, Avi Drome, has selected the OmniTek XR image analysis system for its new colour correction suit at its state-of-the art facility in Hilversum, near Amsterdam. The OmniTek XR which has been purchased through distributor, Alphatron, will be used on major Dutch TV series including: Idols, Expedition Robinson and Vegas Voyage.
"It allows us to check the colour correction on any material instantly, ensuring all the signals are within the legal spectrum,” said Gerlof Kamerling, senior colorist, Avi Drome. "A new Gamut window displays bar graphs of the user’s selection of colour components, indicating the range of values encompassed in the current frame. Where these values go outside specified limits, is shown both graphically and through figures giving the percentage of pixels that exceed the specified limits giving important and instant feedback."
The OmniTek XR is compatible with all regular SD and HD formats and offers users a comprehensive monitoring system that enables detailed analysis of the colourimetry and gamut of the specific material being processed. Additional functionality includes support for all 2K and dual-link input formats, with user-programmable LUTs to correct for non-linear inputs; support for "XYZ" colour space inputs for working in digital cinema, "extreme resolution" waveform and vector displays for total image analysis and real-time colour histogram displays in a variety of different gamuts.
