Zodiak Announce Entertainment Formats

Following the move of Zodiak International (formerly Zodiak Television World) to London, a raft of new entertainment formats has been announced. Jorg Roth, Managing Director, has spearheaded the linking of acquisitions on key properties which are being actively pitched and will also be primed for MIP-TV launches.
Producers Broadcasters Oy, Chatterbox Partnership and Talent Television are the creative forces behind the newest slate of formats on Zodiak International's agenda.
In-house creation Born To Be Wild is a music-driven primetime entertainment format which will train up a rock and roll choir of senior citizens. A heavy-metal singer and famous drummer will select the singers, all over 75 years old. A rigorous training camp then prepares them for the big performance and selects the final group with tough yet warm sessions with rock masters.
Created by Broadcasters Oy, a Zodiak company based in Finland, the format will launch Thursday, January 17 at 8pm on MTV3.
Bring Back is a prime-time, factual entertainment series that starts by taking a nostalgic look back at a great band, TV show or sports team before bringing us right up to date as the presenter tracks them down and brings them back together for an emotional reunion.
Airing on Channel 4 in the UK and getting such pop-culture classics as The A Team, Dallas and most recently cast members of Star Wars to relive their glory days, the format proves to be a ratings hit. It has travelled to America on VH1 as Bands Reunited, focusing on getting rock and pop groups such as New Kids on the Block back together.
Both versions come from Chatterbox Partnership, of which Tom Ellemann is co-owner and also on board at Zodiak's creative development think-tank The Distillery.
Offering quite surreal entertainment, Resistance is a comic take on just how far someone is willing to go for a bit of cash. Available as a location or studio-based series - it can either tempt two strangers into performing ridiculous challenges for increasing amounts of money or challenge contestants to similarly bizarre antics. A Chatterbox format, Resistance launched on the BBC, and has since travelled to the Comedy Channel in France and Autonomica in Spain.
Best of Friends is a reality game show from Talent Television which puts real kids to the test - exploring the values of friendship in a fun and constructive way. Through a sequence of 'treats' and 'tricks', the children aged 6-12 must choose their mates over a fun activity or work on humorous challenges together, putting teamwork and leadership to the test.
Zodiak Television AB carries on the development, production and sales of TV programmes under the brand names of MTV Mastiff, Mastiff Media, Jarowskij, T & T Broadcaster, Look Entertainment, Diverse Productions, Social Club Production, 5th Element, Bird, TeleAlliance, Dixi Media, YS Films, Bullseye and Kanakna in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland,
England, USA, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belgium and the Netherlands. The subsidiary company Zodiak International sells the programmes and rights of the Group and other production companies in the international market with customers in more than 70 countries.
