New Applications From IBIS Unveiled At IBC 2007

During this year’s IBC, IBIS demonstrated a number of new applications and enhancements to existing solutions.
These include:
  • Highlighter - this multiple award-winning sports capture application will be shown with the new touch sensitive panel from leading supplier JL Cooper, demonstrating the capture highlights of live sports feeds and associated metadata in a fast turnaround sports production environment;
  • iFind - an advanced tool to search, sort and manage data, currently in use by ITN and BBC Regional newsrooms. iFind interfaces with ServerBase and the IBIS Asset core to allow intelligent search and retrieval of any stored video;
  • Sony XDCam Cart System - this innovative intuitive robotic archive system will be shown with IBIS controlling the bulk ingest and movement of material between an Avid editing system and the XDCam Cart. With control over and interface to metadata, browse and archive, IBIS is currently the only provider still able to manage robotic control;
  • MAM on Mac with Final Cut Pro - IBIS ServerBase is now compatible with Apple operating systems. IBIS will be demonstrating metadata management and broadcast workflow on a Mac, including browsing images, intelligent searching, versions and variants of material;
  • Archiving - IBIS Archive will demonstrate archiving of material from server through Content Storage Management middleware from Xendata and Qualstar. IBIS has chosen Xendata’s cost effective, user-friendly archives to demonstrate the wide-range of ServerArchive’s interfacing capabilities;
  • ICM - IBIS Content Management will be demonstrated interfacing with its MAM application, ServerBase. ICM will demonstrate foolproof retrieval and browsing of any existing material at the desktop. Of particular interest for news focused applications will be the ability to click on any item to see the precise rights available.
IBIS produces a range of applications and products to enable the broadcaster to create an open and scaleable transmission solution. IBIS' distinctive and user-friendly interfaces minimise training time and their adaptable approach gives broadcasters the flexibility required in either a modular or customised system.
