IBIS showcases powerful news and sports news solutions at NAB
Dorking-based IBIS has upped the ante on news production systems unveiling fast and flexible systems at this year’s NAB exhibition.
A redesigned ServerLoad Sport was showcased in an entirely new version with enhanced features and flexibility. ServerLoad Sport allows the capture of highlights at ingest through up to six different feeds, providing the choice of viewing from multiple angles. Dual screens and thumbnails, which are directly linked to video, provide unprecedented fast turnaround for live sporting highlights production. Each ServerLoad Sport application allows an operator to process up to two sporting events at the same time.
Also new for NAB, IBIS introduced PAC, a new generation distributed control and automation architecture which will allow broadcasters to implement a wide range of process, control and automation systems in a highly cost effective and straightforward manner.
This evolutionary product adds to, and integrates with, the existing IBIS range of systems including station automation, news/sports automation and channel/asset management. It will extend the capabilities of all these systems and provide dramatic new levels of integration between office, management and control functions to match the requirements of the new digital media broadcasting and distribution environments.
In addition to a range of standard IBIS applications, the system will provide for custom applications and control.
At NAB 2005 IBIS previewed the first element of the PAC architecture, a 1U multi-device controller.
Director of Marketing at IBIS, Andrew Winter, commented: “The development of new products is often driven by customer demands, with wish-list applications made reality by the technical expertise of the software provider.
“This is precisely what has happened at the new News and Sports Centre at ESPN, CT, where IBIS has enhanced and developed applications which not only meet ESPN’s immediate and future needs but will benefit all their clients.”
