Rushes Soho Shorts Festival 2004 kicks off

The sixth Rushes Soho Shorts Festival, which will run from July 31 to August 6, launches tomorrow.
Over 2500 short films, music videos, title sequences and idents were entered into this year’s festival, reflecting the wealth of short filmmaking talent in the UK.
Films to be screened during the festival include Fredrik Bond’s ‘The Mood’, Jill Robertson’s ‘Terrible Kisses’ starring Saffron Burrows, Imogen Murphy’s ‘Ten Minute Movie’ and BAFTA winning animated film ‘JoJo In The Stars’.
Polaroid UK have this year teamed up with one of Britain’s foremost portrait photographers Jillian Edelstein to create an exhibition of cinematic black and white Polaroid portraits of luminaries from the British Film Industry. The ‘Art of Cinema by Polaroid’ contains a specially commissioned Polaroid portrait of Bill Nighy (this year’s Festival spokesperson). Other luminaries include Tim Bevan & Eric Felner, Helena Bonham Carter, Ray Winstone, Kristin Scott Thomas, Ian Holm, Emilia Fox, Leslie Phillips and Rufus Sewell.
