Shemaroo Equips Post Production Studio With OmniTek XR Systems

Leading test and measurement manufacturer OmniTek has announced that Indian film and video post production house, Shemaroo, has chosen to equip its new post production studio with two OmniTek XR systems.
Shemaroo will use the OmniTek XR image analysis systems - specifically designed for colorists and post-production editors working in a high-definition environment – as part of the new working standards it has created in the field of film restoration, digital intermediate and DVD authoring and mastering at its new film and video post production facility in Mumbai.
“We wanted a complete, high-end multi format (SD/HD/2K/4K) telecine, film restoration, digital intermediate DVD and VCD authoring and mastering suit with every thing under one roof,” said Mr Hemant Karani, Vice President-studios from Shemaroo. “By setting up an end-to-end chain from high-end Thomson Spirit 4K Datacine, Davinci 2Kplus for colour correction, Digital Vision DVFS 1000 HD DVNR and Film Masters with Dvo for Digital Intermediate DVD encoding and authoring rooms, linear/non-linear editing and graphics set-ups for menus and a complete audio restoration set-up and off course OmniTek’s XRs for image analysis, our facility now includes equipment from world-renowned manufacturers with no compromise for the demanding requirements of our Indian environment. Further, we have set-up India’s first Bright SAN system and our entire facility is well connected to work with NAS and SAN applications.”
The OmniTek XR image analysis system provides a number of unique features not available on any other monitoring system, such as "extreme resolution" waveform and vector displays for total image analysis; real-time colour histogram displays in a variety of different gamuts; support for all 2k and dual-link input formats, with user-programmable LUTs to correct for non-linear inputs; support for "XYZ" colour space inputs for users working in digital cinema.
The sale was lead by OmniTek’s Indian Resellers, Cineom Broadcast India Pvt limited from the company’s offices in Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai. Paresh Sorathia – Director Cineom said: “With Omnitek installed and working successfully at Shemaroo and other projects on their way for installation, we now have good numbers as OmniTek reference sites in India.”
“The OmniTek XR is the first and only image analysis system specifically designed for colorists and post-production editors working in a high- definition environment,” confirmed Roger Fawcett, OmniTek’s business director. “As a result this system is proving particularly popular with high-end post production facilities throughout the world.”
