Pixelfantastic Choose OmniTek XR Image Analysis Solution

OmniTek has announced that Pixelfantasitc has chosen the OmniTek XR image analysis solution to monitor the quality of all the film and video projects that go through its facility in east London.
The XR will now be used to monitor the audio levels, audio phase and colour levels for videos including the likes of Kylie Minogue, Oasis, Blur, Morrissey and Scissor Sisters in addition to feature film material and general footage.
"We are in the process of upgrading our entire studio to HD and the OmniTek scope has several advantages over others on the market," said Barrie Williams, company founder of Pixelfantastic. "In addition to being a cost effective solution, the FPGA based format means the unit can be upgraded easily with new features which is critical given the evolving nature of HD. This means we have already been able to take advantage of OmniTek’s recent release of Dolby E functionality for example."
The OmniTek XR is specifically designed for colourists and post production editors working in a high-definition environment offering users a comprehensive monitoring system that is compatible with all regular SD and HD formats.
The scope enables detailed analysis of the colourimetry and gamut of the specific material being processed. Unique features include: 'extreme resolution' waveform and vector displays for total image analysis; real-time colour histogram displays in a variety of different gamuts; support for all 2K and dual-link input formats, with user-programmable LUTs to correct for non-linear inputs; support for 'XYZ' colour space inputs for users working in digital cinema in addition to A/V lip-sync delay measurement capability for video with embedded Dolby E audio.
