SSL SUPPLY RUSSIA WITH AVANT CONSOLES

Oxford based Solid State Logic (SSL) have announced that two large Avant digital film consoles are to play an important role in the regeneration of the film industry in Russia.
The two 48-fader consoles, each with 192 processing channels, will be located in the state-owned studios, Lenfilm and Mosfilm.
Mosfilm have produced over 3,000 films in their 70-year history and the studio’s output has garnered over 400 major international awards.
Mosfilm presently have two SL 4000 Series and two SL 5000 Series analogue consoles. In the last two years, all four consoles have been upgraded, including the addition of eight stereo channels to one of the 4000 Series. Mosfilm’s new Avant digital console is to replace the SL 5000 Series which will be relocated to a smaller room.
SSL’s Regional Sales Manager, Damir Begovic, said: “There seems to be a much greater degree of confidence and determination to succeed. The substantial investment in new digital equipment, including our Avant consoles, will help regenerate the industry which has made such an important contribution to world cinema.”
The sale of the two Avant digital consoles to Mosfilm and Lenfilm was completed with the assistance of SSL’s regional distributors Proline. (CD)
