NEW AVANT SOFTWARE EXTENDS CREATIVITY

SOLID State Logic have introduced their new V.4 software for the Avant digital film and post-production console.
An important feature in the new V.4 software is ‘Panpoint Panning’. This SSL innovation provides operators with an intuitive and accurate tool for manipulating surround sound. Using a pen and tablet, operators can create a panning path for the signal to picture with extreme accuracy. Panpoint Panning is designed to complement existing channel pan controls and console joysticks.
Powerful grouping options are also included in the new software release, providing new ways to link signal controls, simplifying the creation of highly complex surround sound effects.
In order to improve productivity, SSL has introduced a new ‘Virtual Paddles’ feature in V.4 software. Using the existing paddle switch configuration, Virtual Paddles enables the controls to be used for additional monitoring and machine control, streamlining the post production process and eliminating the need for outboard control equipment.
