Custom Consoles Completes Control Desk For Videlio Digital & Media

Custom Consoles has completed a project-specific control desk for Hampshire-based audiovisual systems integrator Videlio Digital & Media United Kingdom.

The desk houses equipment used to control sound reinforcement and presentation-area lighting at the Christ Church community centre in Epsom.

"Our brief from Videlio was to design and build a robust desk that would blend into a church environment," says Custom Consoles Sales Manager Gary Fuller. "We selected a style with curved side-panels approximately resembling an organ console. Built in MDF with medium-oak veneer, it is configured to allow one person to control the entire system or can be used by two people if preferred."

"We gave Custom Consoles a detailed listing of the equipment we would be integrating into the desk," adds Videlio Digital & Media Systems Engineer David Wedlake. "Now fully installed and operational, the desk includes an audio mixing console to the left, two flat-screen monitor displays a desktop control panel at centre right, plus a routing patch bay and various rack-mounting signal processors."

"The audio console is protected by a sliding tambour cover which can be locked to preserve specific control settings. The monitor screens are supported by operator-adjustable Ergotron mounts attached to the rear of the desktop."
