Radio Bio Bio Relies On AEQ Digital Audio Consoles

Radio Bio Bio is a Chilean radio station, founded in 1966 in Concepción, where it is based; it also has local stations in Santiago, Valparaíso, Los Ángeles, Temuco, Valdivia, Osorno and Puerto Montt.

As a result of the last renovation of Radio Bio Bio's studios, the company's technical management relied on AEQ technology to equip the new digital radio mixers that are the heart of these installations. FORUM IP is a mixing console designed for ON AIR broadcast control in two formats, for embedding or desktop. They incorporate all the basic features necessary in this type of environment: automatic monitor cut-off, cough cut-off, faderstart, signalling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, external communications management, intercommunication, etc. With its modular design and small size, it adapts perfectly to different scenarios: self-control, control-locutory, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations, integration in large installations, etc. Simplicity and control power are combined in the FORUM IP consoles to cover both basic and advanced operation needs. AEQ FORUM is available in 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 fader sizes.

On the other hand, CAPITOL IP is an 8-channel fixed configuration Digital Audio mixing console. In CAPITOL IP the implementation of IP connectivity is based on a single module of 16 input and 16 output channels, incorporated in its core.

One of the main qualities of AEQ CAPITOL IP is the wide input capacity available: 4 micro/line, 12 analogue, 4 digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), 2 digital stereo USB, 2 optional telephone lines, and optional digital multichannel audio links; 16 AoIP channels on two Ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels input by optical fibre. Its output capacity is also amazing: 8 analogue, 4 digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), 2 digital stereo USB, 2 optional telephone lines, optional digital multi-channel audio links; 16 AoIP channels over two Ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels input via fibre optics, control headphones, primary and secondary studio headphones, control monitoring, studio monitoring and special output for CUE speaker pair.
