Granada International signs deal with SBS in the Netherlands and Sweden
Leading European programme distributor, Granada International, has inked a multi-million pound output deal with SBS in the Netherlands and Sweden.
The three year deal, announced today by Nadine Nohr, Managing Director, will give SBS in the Netherlands the first look at all of Granada International’s factual, ‘factual entertainment’ and entertainment finished programming as well as a TV movie commitment.
In Sweden, where the SBS channel is Kanal 5, this multi-year deal will provide the broadcaster with a first look on a huge number of hours of factual and ‘factual entertainment’ programmes and well as US TV Movies.
Gijs Tulleken, Head of Acquisitions at SBS said, “Granada International’s programmes are always accessible and extremely popular. We have built up some great audiences around their shows in our schedules. I am very pleased to have confirmed this long term deal with them to ensure that we have the best international programming available to offer our viewers.”
Samantha McMillon, who brokered the deal in The Netherlands commented, “We are delighted that SBS has confirmed such a substantial arrangement with us. We know that our programming works well for them, particularly the ‘From Hell’ series and 'Monster House', and I am looking forward to continuing an excellent business relationship.”
Noel Hedges, who secured the Swedish element of the deal added, “Kanal 5 has always been the perfect home for many of Granada International's programmes. Currently having huge success with 'Nanny 911', this deal only underlines further the perfect fit between what we can supply and what Kanal 5 needs."
Granada International is one of the largest and most successful commercial television distributors in Europe, with a catalogue of programming encompasses more than 35,000 hours of the best in UK network production, international co-productions, formats, Hollywood TV movies, classic film libraries and high quality programming from the worldwide independent production sector.
Granada International is part of Granada, one of Europe’s leading commercial television production and distribution companies and the production business of ITV plc.
