Granada International Renews Output Deal With SBS Broadcasting

Granada International has inked a new three-year renewal of its output deal with SBS Broadcasting in the Netherlands, with the expanded agreement including a substantial commitment to daytime programming, it has been announced by Peter Iacono, President and Managing Director of ITV Worldwide.
In addition to the current factual, factual entertainment and Hollywood TV movies the broadcaster already acquires, the multi-year output deal with now include an extensive number of daytime shows.
Daytime programming included in the deal will be selected from Granada International's award-winning long-running drama and entertainment series suitable for this time slot. In addition to factual entertainment hits 'Hell's Kitchen USA' and 'Trinny & Susannah Undress', which air on upmarket female-skewing channel Net 5, the deal includes a format license to create a local version of GI's entertainment series 'Come Dine With Me' for Net 5, plus taped series 'Property Developing Abroad' for family-oriented Channel SBS 6 and science show 'Brainiac: Science Abuse' which is broadcast on their young male skewed channel Veronica.
Andre Renaud, Sales Executive at Granada International who brokered the deal, said: "I am very pleased that our relationship with SBS is continuing to grow. Our success with long-running, award-winning drama 'Emmerdale' and 'Coronation Street' and stripped factual programming such as '60 Minute Makeover' provides a one-stop shop for broadcasters seeking a mix of stand out titles for their daytime schedules."
Rozan Hamaker, Head of Acquisitions at SBS Broadcasting, commented: "I am delighted to extend our current output deal with Granada International. Granada is the one of the leading companies worldwide in factual entertainment and with this deal we are able to secure these highly valued shows on our channels."
