Bectu members accept Granada pay deal

Bectu members across Granada have voted by a majority of 4-1 to accept a revised pay offer.
The follows a ballot of Granada union members on an increased offer following a threat of industrial action.
The settlement, which will run for 15 months, includes a 2.25% increase in basic pay and shares in Granada.
The revised package adds the equivalent of 1% on the average salary to the award Granada attempted to impose in October 2003. This offer was rejected by Bectu, Amicus and NUJ members leading to the unions threatening industrial action.
The next salary review is due in January 2005.
