ITC RENEWS ANGLIA LICENCE FROM 2001

THE INDEPENDENT Television Comission (ITC) have confirmed that they have granted a renewal of the licence held by Anglia Television for a ten-year period.
This follows the submission of a formal application for licence renewal and confirmation that Anglia have accepted the terms proposed by the ITC.
The ITC announced in May 2000 that Anglia had formally expressed an interest in renewing their licence from January 2001, and they received formal expressions of interest from the remaining Channel 3 licensees Border, Central, Channel, Grampian, Granada, LWT and Scottish, to renew their licences from April 1 2001 at the end of September.
Anglia Television are part of Granada Media, who also own the companies which hold the Channel 3 licences for North-West England, London (weekend), Yorkshire, North-East England and South-East England. (CD)
