MINISTER CELEBRATES CYFLE’S ACHIEVEMENTS

FIRST MINISTER, Rhodri Morgan AM, recently presented the first people to benefit from Objective 1 funding with their Skillset Professional Qualifications NVQs in Caernarfon.
The individuals were on the Cyfle training scheme for new entrants into the Welsh film, television and new media industry during 2000, which was one of the first projects to receive Objective 1 funding from Europe.
In congratulating the individuals on successfully completing their training and moving into employment, Rhodri Morgan emphasised the fact that the National Assembly for Wales acknowledges the need to support new developing industry sectors, such as media, which are the basis of the economic prosperity of Wales.
Also present at the ceremony was Huw Jones, Chief Executive of S4C, who emphasised the importance of Cyfle and the success of its vocational training schemes.
During his visit to Cyfle, Morgan also officially opened the company`s new training facilities and offices at Gronant, Penrallt, Isaf, in Caernarfon. (CD)
