CYFLE ANNOUNCE TRAINING DEADLINE
CYFLE, the training company for the film and television industry in Wales, have set Friday, December 8, 2000 as the deadline for applications for their 2001 full time training scheme.
Cyfle and sister company Media Skills Wales are the major vocational training providers for the Welsh film, television and new media industry. They plan to appoint up to 17 trainees for their new entrant training schemes in 2001. The aim of the training is to provide the trainees with the necessary skills so that may go on to pursue a career in the industry grade in which they receive their training, which lasts from 12 to 15 months.
Sion Hughes, Chief Executive of Cyfle, emphasised that Cyfle looks forward to receiving applications from different social groups, especially disabled people and members of ethnic minorities.
Hughes said: “The company has a culture of offering equality of opportunity. Over the past few years Cyfle has a proud record of training women to work in jobs in the industry where they have traditionally been under-represented. We look forward to receiving applications from anyone with the talent and commitment to pursue a career in the media, whatever their personal circumstances or their social background.
“Our new training centre offers full facilities for the disabled and as a company we will lead the way in showing a good example and respond effectively to the special needs of individuals.”
The areas of training for 2001 will be: Editing, Production Trainee, Second Assistant, Production Co-ordinator, New Media, Computer Graphics and Special Effects, Sound Boom Operating, Camera, and Props.
For further information, contact Geraint Wyn Parry on tel. +44 (0)1286 671000.
