Cyfle Welcomes New Chief Executive

Welsh media training company Cyfle has announced the appointment of Sue Jeffries as its new Chief Executive.
Following 23 years service with the company, Iona Williams has decided to retire from the position at the end of March.
Ms Jeffries, who has been working as part of Cyfle’s team as a Strategy Development Consultant since April 2012, will take over as Chief Executive from 1 April 2013.
She will be a familiar face to many former Cyfle trainees, who may have been trained by Sue on a variety of different industry training schemes over the years.
Ms Jeffries began her working life as a trainee PA with ITV, working her way up the production grades before going freelance in 1989.
She worked as a film and television producer and director for more than sixteen years, mainly in the field of drama, children’s and light entertainment.
She has also been trained as a media Careers Adviser by Creative Skillset, and is a qualified Assessor. Sue has worked as an industry trainer and consultant, delivering training sessions and workshops for agencies such as BECTU, ITV and the BBC, as well as Cyfle.
Gareth Jones, Cyfle Chairman said: "We are delighted that Sue has decided to accept the post of Chief Executive with us at Cyfle. Her wealth of industry experience, and knowledge of both training and production will be invaluable to Cyfle and we look forward to her leading the team to a successful and productive future."
Ms Jeffries added: "It is with pride and pleasure that I follow in Iona’s footsteps to lead a company that has done so much to support the creative industries over the years. I am looking forward to continuing the work of building Cyfle as a company and moving it forward to the future with the talented, enthusiastic and dedicated staff who work in our Cardiff and Caernarfon offices."
Cyfle, meaning opportunity in Welsh, has training centres in Caernarfon and Cardiff. The company was established in 1986 to train technicians for the industry in response to the creation of S4C.
