SOHO IMAGES COMPLETE FEATURE FILM ‘DIGGITY’

SOHO IMAGES, one of London’s leading Laboratory Facilities, have completed finishing and mastering on a family feature film entitled ‘Diggity: A Home at Last’ for Luxembourg based production company, The Carousel Picture Company.
Carousel delivered to Soho Images an Interpositive master. This was scene-by-scene grade carried out by Telecine Colourist, Alan Tully on URSA Gold working alongside the film’s D.O.P, Joost van Starrenburg.
The feature was sub-mastered to D1 and subsequently loaded into Symphony Universal as a 24P project. On-Line Editors Patrick Barry and Daniel Lavender carried out the audio layback from DA88 and then a complete Dust Bust (dirt and scratch removal).
On completion, the entire feature was played out from Symphony to 625 and then 525 D1 in 16:9 anamorphic, 4:3 pan and scan and 2:35.1 letterbox for UK and international distribution.
Barry said: “Avid’s Version 3 hardware is a vast improvement in particular for pan and scan. Previously we would play out a programme to tape and then pan and scan to 4:3 via ARC. This meant tying up another digital linear suite and 2xVT machines. However with Version 3 the entire project could be completed in Symphony which saved us a lot of time, and money for the client.”
