root6 complete first systems integration project at TC Soho

TC Video, the Wembley based video duplication and media services company, have expanded their operations with the opening of TC Soho, a new purpose-built facility in Poland Street.
TC Soho will offer a wide range of media services including dubbing, duplication and Alchemist standards conversion - alongside media encoding and web streaming. Additionally, the new facility will provide Avid editing and DVD authoring services with three Sonic Creator workstations. Six additional new staff have already been employed.
The 22-bay machine room, QC room with 5.1 monitoring, edit suite, DVD stations and related infrastructure, were designed and installed by root6, which recently established a systems integration service headed by leading Soho engineer, Phil Crawley. root6 managed all aspects of the job from finance through to decorating. The wiring management alone involved a six-man team laying more than 20 km of cable with 65,000 connectors.
The installation benefited from root6’s expertise in a variety of areas including design, integration and custom programming, culminating in a scalable system which, according to Crawley is: “Elegant to use; allowing complex operations with a multitude of signal standards and formats to be completed with minimum fuss and setup time.”
