GRANADA ANNOUNCE TWO MAJOR APPOINTMENTS

GRANADA HAVE announced two major appointments, combining broadcasting and airtime sales under one Managing Director.
Mick Desmond takes the top role as Managing Director of Granada Broadcasting & Enterprises. He was previously CEO of Granada Enterprises.
Desmond will also take up the role of Chairman of Granada Enterprises.
Graham Duff succeeds Desmond as CEO of Granada Enterprises and will join Granada’s Executive Board. Duff joins from Zenith UK Group, one of Britain’s leading media buying organisations, where he was Chief Executive.
Steve Morrison, Chief Executive of Granada, said: “By bringing together the management of our TV stations and our advertising sales house, we’re not only responding to our clients’ needs, we are also bringing the combined business much closer to the viewer and the advertiser.
“Granada’s businesses are now streamlined into two powerful divisions: one managing broadcasting and enterprises; and the other managing all content-associated business.”
Desmond said: “I am delighted that Granada’s broadcasting and enterprises operations are to have a far more commercially-driven focus. And I’m also delighted that in Graham Duff we have been able to attract such a senior and respected figure from the advertising industry.” (CD)
