Seven Network And Granada International Sign Agreement

The Seven Network and Granada International, part of the UK's ITV, has confirmed the signing of a long-term exclusive agreement that will deliver Granada International’s television programmes to Seven.
Granada International is the home of key programmes – including 'Prime Suspect' and 'A Touch of Frost' – which have enjoyed strong audiences in Australia. Seven will access Granada International’s current slate including Life Begins, William and Mary and new series, Lewis and My Boy Jack (starring Daniel Radcliffe and Kim Cattrall) which will launch in Australia in 2008.
The agreement with Granada International adds further depth to Seven’s programming portfolio as the company expands its presence through multiple channels on the company’s digital television platform in Australia.
Seven’s connection with Granada began nearly four decades ago – with the Seven Revolution and the launch of British comedy and drama series on commercial television in Australia.
David Leckie, the Chief Executive Officer of Seven Media Group and the Seven Network, said: "We have a long and valuable partnership with Granada International and we are looking forward to Granada’s and ITV’s leadership in the production of television programmes playing a key role in our continuing success across Seven’s multiple channel platform.
"Critically for us, today has seen Seven secure its long-term programming with key producers of television content. Our agreements with The Walt Disney Company, NBC Universal and now Granada International are important: all three production companies are part of broader media businesses which include ownership of television networks. We are aligned with two of the biggest television networks in the United States and ITV which dominates broadcasting in the United Kingdom."
Tim Worner, the Director of Programming and Production for the Seven Network, said: "Seven and Granada International understand each other. We have a terrific working relationship with Granada and we look forward to them continuing to create great television programmes and also working with us as we expand our multiple channel presence in broadcast television over the coming twelve months."
Nadine Nohr, Managing Director of Granada International, added: "We are very pleased to continue our long-standing and strong relationship with the Seven Network in Australia. We have a constant supply of innovative and exciting new programming to share with them and Australian viewers."
