Granada International hires new Factual Programming Executive

Leading distributor Granada International has hired Gary McDonagh as its new Factual Programming Executive.
McDonagh, currently a freelance producer and director of factual programming with more than nine years experience within the television industry, will join the programming team on March 13, where he will report to Mark Reynolds, Head of Factual.
Mark Reynolds said: "We’re delighted that Gary will be joining us on the factual programming team. His experience throughout the business is extensive and I am sure he will be a great asset to us as we continue to grow our programming portfolio with independent and in-house producers throughout the world.”
McDonagh was most recently cameraman/director for ‘Traffic Cops’, a prime-time factual series for BBC One and cameraman/director on ‘Animal Precinct New York’ and ‘Animal Cops Detroit’, two series produced by Granada Anglia for Discovery Animal Planet USA.
He has run his own company, Strawberry Blonde Productions, and has produced for Bravo, VH1/MTV Networks and Channel Four. Prior to this, McDonagh produced a series of successful on-air marketing strategies and campaigns for the BBC, Bravo, BskyB, Channel Four, Disney, Five, ITV, MTV and VH1. He has also worked as a management and financial accountant for a number of years before he began his career in television.
