Deadline for Oscailt short film scheme nears

The October 10 deadline for submissions to the next round of the Bord Scannán na hÉireann (The Irish film Board) Oscailt short film scheme is just days away.
Oscailt aims to add to short filmmaking in Irish and to encourage new talent in all areas of Irish language drama production. The scheme aims to finance a broad range of films of between 10 and 26 minutes duration from a maximum fund of euro 385,000.
The scope of Oscailt has been extended to include fictional pieces in animation, flash animation or docu-drama projects. Although priority will be given to first-time directors and writers, the scheme is also open to experienced filmmakers.
Co-funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann and TG4 guidelines and checklist details may be obtained from www.filmboard.ie.
