Hearst-Argyle purchase Mercury gear from Trilogy

Trilogy Broadcast, providers of innovative and market leading intercom/talkback, signal monitoring and SPG systems, have announced that they have supplied Mercury VoIP communications equipment to Hearst-Argyle Television station group.
Providing the infrastructure for flexible and powerful "intercom style" WAN communications across their enterprise, the first phase is to supply user interfaces at the assignment desks of twenty four TV stations and the Washington DC news bureau. The deal was concluded by Trilogy's USA-based company, Trilogy BSE.
Allowing news personnel to instantly co-ordinate events between any and all of their sites across the US, the installation will also provide connection between the existing production intercom systems at all their sites. This allows Hearst-Argyle to extend their current intercom reach to configure local, regional and national users, together with mixed groups - regardless of their physical location.
Later this year, the system will be enhanced to allow all sites to feed their local production IFBs into the Mercury system. Utilising the Mercury telephone interfaces, this will allow any field reporters to call into the system from mobile phones or land lines - allowing them automatic selection of any of the twenty five IFBs from telephones DTMF dial pads without operator assistance.
