Teletext awarded Channel 5 licence

The ITC have agreed to award the additional services licence on the Channel 5 signal to Teletext Limited.
The Commission were satisfied that the technical plan, as far as it involves the use of any telecommunications system, was acceptable to the relevant licensing authorities (DTI and Oftel), and that the service proposed to be provided by Teletext Limited under the licence would be capable of being maintained throughout the period for which the licence would be in force.
The cash bid was £35,000 and there were no other applicants.
