Vitec Unveils Focus FS-P250 Proxy Recorder
Vitec, a supplier of advanced video solutions, has today unveiled enhanced P2 production workflow with the introduction of the Focus FS-P250 Proxy Recorder.
The Focus FS-P250 Proxy Recorder records H.264 proxy clips in parallel with the high-resolution clips of the Panasonic AG-HPX250 P2 HD handheld camcorder. While users can both instantly view streamed clips and input custom metadata from the Focus FS-P250 web interface.
While recording proxy clips, the Focus FS-P250 also captures matching timecode and camera-based metadata from the Panasonic AG-HPX250. The user may select various resolutions and bit rates for proxy recording depending on workflow and application. The web interface can be accessed from either a PC or mobile device using the optional Panasonic AJ-WM30 Wireless Module.
"Our customers have been eager to utilize the new proxy modes and wireless metadata entry found in the AJ-HPX3100 P2 camcorder, and they have also been asking for a way to enable these features in our more affordable, lighter weight cameras such as the AG-HPX250," said Kunihiko Miyagi, Director of Professional AV Business Unit of Panasonic. "Thanks to our partnership with Vitec, this will be possible, including live streaming of the proxy video over WiFi. With the FS-P250, our AG-HPX250 customers will be able to take immediate advantage of emerging production tools utilizing wireless technologies and the cloud."
"VITEC is honored to be a long time solutions partner with Panasonic," said Mark D'Addio, VP of Business Development for VITEC. "The Focus FS-P250 is a perfect companion recorder for the AG-HPX250 camera as it enables collaborative cloud-based workflows for AVC-Intra mobile acquisition."
