Rob Brydon To Be Honoured By BAFTA Cymru

BAFTA Cymru are delighted to announce that Rob Brydon will be honoured with the prestigious Sian Phillips Award at the 19th Annual BAFTA Cymru Film, Television and Interactive Media Awards Ceremony.
The event, will be held at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay on Sunday.
Rob Brydon commented:"I've not won an award in Wales since 1984, Porthcawl Comprehensive Drama Student of The Year, so I'm both delighted and relieved this fallow spell has come to an end. My sincere thanks to all at BAFTA Cymru, I look forward to another award in 2036..."
Delighted to announce Rob Brydon as the recipient of the prestigious Sian Phillips Award, the Director of BAFTA Cymru, Lisa Nesbitt said: "BAFTA Cymru is delighted to be honouring Rob Brydon with The Sian Phillips Award. This special award has a firm tradition of recognising Welshmen and Women for their outstanding achievements in network television and film."
Rob Brydon now joins an exclusive club of Welsh talent in the Sian Philips Award Hall of fame, who has been recognised for their achievements and their contribution in enriching the film and television experience for audiences in Wales and beyond. Previous recipients of the BAFTA Cymru Sian Phillips award include; 2009 - Ruth Jones, 2008 - Ioan Gruffudd, 2007 - Michael Sheen, 2006 - Russell T Davies, and 2005 - Rhys Ifans.
The ceremony will be hosted for the first time by Cerys Matthews and Aled Jones.
This year, both The British Academy Television Craft Awards and The BAFTA Cymru Film, Television and Interactive Awards will take place on Sunday 23rd May 2010 at the London Hilton and Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff respectively, in a joint celebration of excellence. With an abundance of talent nationwide the 23rd May is a landmark date.
