Bafta Film Award Winners Revealed
Silent Movie, The Artist, dominated the Baftas last night but there were also victories for UK short animation A morning Stroll and for British film Tailor Tinker Soldier Spy.
Studio AKA’s A Morning Stroll has claimed the award for Best Animation Short.
The film, which focuses on the exploits of a chicken in New York, was made at the London-based studio and despite being made as a ‘spare-time project’ it has caused quite a stir. Its creators will take another stroll along the red carpet - after being nominated for the Short Animated Film Oscar.
Directed by Grant Orchard of Studio AKA, A Morning Stroll shows a New Yorker out for a walk when he passes a chicken in the street and plays on the age old joke: Why did the chicken cross the road?
Tailor Tinker Soldier Spy bagged the prize for Outstanding British Film. While the late Bridget O’Connor and her husband Peter Straughan were acknowledged in the Best Adapted Screenplay category for their adaptation of the novel Tailor Tinker Solider Spy into a film of the same name.
Silent movie The Artist however dominated the 65th Baftas, taking seven prizes including best film, best director and best actor for its star Jean Dujardin. As well as his director prize, film-maker Michel Hazanavicius picked up the best original screenplay prize.
