UTV's Rob Morrison Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

UTV's Rob Morrison has received the CIPR Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his contribution to broadcasting over the past 40 years.
The judges said: "Rob was given the lifetime achievement award for his commitment to the industry. His work with UTV Live has made the programme the most watched local news in the UK, he has overseen a number of award-winning current affairs programmes and worked on almost every breaking news story for the last 40 years.
"But the award also recognises the man, not just the work - he is respected throughout the industry and is always courteous. Rob was the overwhelming choice at the vote and nobody is more deserving of the award."
Rob Morrison said: "It was a surprise and an honour to be presented with this award. Amazingly, I never started out to be involved in news - I was more interested in making arts films - but I have enjoyed every moment of working in news and current affairs. I have had the pleasure of working some exceptional people throughout my career, many of whom I now regard as friends, and this award is also a tribute to them."
