Deadline Looms For Media Techs

Those interested in the technical aspects of film and video, or in helping to preserve and archive footage to ensure it is accessible to future generations are running out of time to get places on a popular training course.
Delivered by Focal International and Film London, and accredited by the Hertfordshire Skillset Academy, The Film and Media Technician New Entrant Scheme is a 12-month programme which provides people with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to begin a successful career in the technical areas of film and television media libraries.
Those keen on one of ten successful places as successful candidates will undertake a structured programme of industry, technical and workplace knowledge and skills training over a year.
The entry deadline is the end of October for a programme that will deliver 20 weeks of individual work-based training with two archive employers, alongside teaching in a residential setting.
For full guidelines and details visit: www.filmlondon.org.uk
Deadline for applications is Friday 30 October 2009.
