FURTHER TECHNICAL TRAINING PLACES OFFERED
FOLLOWING successful bids for funding from Skillset, Channel 4 and the European Social Fund (ESF), FT2 have announced further places are now available on the new entrants technical training programme.
The programme is designed to help people establish freelance careers in junior technical and production grades of the film and television industry.
The extra places are a result of a successful ESF bid for a grant of £600,000 over two years and continuing funding of additional places from the recently up and running Skills Investment Fund which administers funds raised by feature film production.
FT2 actively seek to assist the film and television industry pursue a policy of equal opportunity, which will lead them to having a more diverse workforce in future. FT2 seek to ensure that half of all available places are for women and a third of all places are available for people from ethnic minority backgrounds and they particularly welcome people with disabilities.
In parallel, Channel 4 through their ‘4SKILLS’ initiative are sponsoring an additional four places on the new entrants scheme for people from ethnic minority backgrounds.
Patrick Younge of Channel 4, said: “4SKILLS is a relaunch of our targeted training scheme, 4Fit. As part of our overall drive to improve the racial diversity of the industry.”
