PACT strengthen management with two new appointments
The Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT) have announced two key additions to their executive team.
Tim Wilson becomes PACT's new Director of Policy, and will help shape policy thinking and plan for future campaign initiatives.
Sarah Walker, as the new Director of Marketing and Communications, will oversee PACT's communications with their internal and external stakeholders.
Commenting on the appointments, Chief Executive John McVay said: "This is an historic moment for PACT as we approach the passage of the Communications Bill through Parliament and lobby for a new regulatory settlement for the independent production sector.
"PACT's issues are currently high on the political and industry agendas, and both Tim and Sarah will add weight to the management team at this crucial time. As well as communicating PACT's messages to Government and other stakeholders, Tim and Sarah will work closely with the membership to ensure they are both informed about and engaged with industry developments and debates."
Wilson has been in public affairs consultancy since January 1997 when he joined Political Context, headed up by media expert Leighton Andrews. He became part of Westminster Strategy in May 1999 when the two companies merged, where he was an Account Director. Wilson specialised in media and technology, offering senior-level advice to blue-chip companies and major trade associations. His previous experience includes working for several not-for-profit organisations on lobbying and public pressure campaigns, as well as several other communications-related roles.
Walker moves to PACT from Informa Media where she was responsible for the editorial direction and development of magazine and yearbooks. She was previously editor of Television Business International and before that In Production. Sarah has also worked as Asia Bureau Chief for 21st Century, overseeing the strategic direction of Asian media publications such as Cable & Satellite Asia. She has an in-depth knowledge of the broadcasting and new media industries, both domestically and internationally.
