PACT CHIEF EXECUTIVE TO STAND DOWN IN NEW YEAR.

News Image
PACT (Producers’ Alliance for Cinema and Television) Chief Executive Shaun Williams has announced that he is to leave the independent producers’ body in January 2001.
Williams said: “Leading PACT has been the most rewarding and enjoyable period of my working life, but after three years to the day at the helm, and six years in total at PACT, I feel it will be the right time for me, and PACT, to hand over the baton and seek new challenges. By announcing my departure in this way I hope to provide the smoothest possible transition for my eventual successor.”
The PACT council will shortly set up an Appointments Committee to seek a successor by January.
Williams has agreed to remain at PACT until the end of January, in order to help see in the newly elected PACT Council for 2001.
Williams, a former journalist and BBC Graduate Production Trainee, joined PACT as Deputy Chief Executive in 1995, and was appointed Chief Executive in February 1998.
