PACT BOOST NATIONS AND REGIONS REMIT
PACT, the UK’s producers alliance, have developed a new position within their organisation aimed at boosting its regional involvement.
Margaret Scott, Manager of PACT Scotland, will fill the new position as Head of Nations and Regions, which aims to increase PACT’s focus and commitment to indies outside London.
Shaun Williams Pact Chief Executive said: “For the first time in its history PACT will have a senior management level a post solely focused on the needs of regional independents. This is terrific news for the hundreds of PACT members based outside London.”
Scott will continue to be based in Glasgow where she will oversee all of PACT’s policy and membership services as well as activities outside London. Reporting to Williams, who leaves PACT in January 2001, Scott’s new duties previously formed part of the remit of Deputy Chief Executive of PACT Diane Freeman. PACT will meanwhile seek to recruit a new Head of Pact for Scotland.
In addition PACT have secured what is described as "significant public funding" to enabling the organisation to fund a short contract post for a Nations and Regions New Media Officer.
Also to be based in Glasgow, the New Media Officer will be charged with helping regional independents explore the opportunities presented by new digital content.
